🍭 #1: Fructose Fiasco — How a Sweet Little Molecule Hijacked Our Health

Fructose may sound harmless (hey, it’s in fruit, right?), but when extracted, concentrated, and pumped into processed foods as high-fructose corn syrup, it becomes a major player in metabolic dysfunction. In this kickoff session, we uncover how fructose bypasses normal sugar metabolism, overwhelms the liver, promotes fat storage, and fuels inflammation — all under the radar. Get ready for a sweet truth bomb… with a side of science!

🍬 #3: Sweet Lies — Meet the ASS in Your Pantry

In Part 3 of the Stop Eating C.R.A.P. series, we dive deep into the sweet world of deception — specifically the three most infamous artificial sweeteners: Aspartame, Sucralose, and Saccharin. Collectively dubbed the A.S.S. gang, these chemical compounds have been marketed for decades as healthy sugar alternatives — but beneath the sweet façade lies a tangled web of questionable approvals, brain chemistry disruption, and long-term health concerns.

This presentation explores:

  • The political and industrial forces behind aspartame’s FDA approval

  • The chemical transformation that turned sucralose into a chlorinated pseudo-sugar

  • The dramatic history of saccharin, from discovery to ban to un-ban

  • How these substances impact neurological function, gut health, and metabolic balance

  • A clear explanation of excitotoxicity and why it matters for your brain

Sweetener Wrap-UP!

🍰 Stop Eating C.R.A.P. — Part 4: The Sweet Finish 🍯
Artificial & Natural Sweeteners, Whole-Food Sweeteners, Fruits, and More!

Ready to satisfy your curiosity without spiking your blood sugar? In this final and flavor-packed episode of our “Stop Eating C.R.A.P.” series, I dive into the ever-confusing world of sweeteners—from monk fruit to maple syrup, erythritol to raw honey, coconut sugar to allulose—and even the real story on fruits and “brown” sugars like turbinado and molasses.  Beneath the surface, I've learned some very real reasons to avoid certain sweeteners that are often hidden in processed food products.  Did you know erythritol - a very common sweetener and one that is recommended for "diabetics" has been found to increase blood clotting and the frequency of MACE; i.e., Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events???  And it is found in very many "sugarless" products, often combined with otherwise harmless sweeteners, such as Stevia and Monk Fruit.

Allulose!  I didn't know anything about this until I did the research for this presentation, and, WOW, I love it.  It can be used as a functional food/supplement to prevent metabolic disease (prediabetes, diabetes type 2) and to help those who already have it, burn visceral fat, and stimulate GLP-1 for its benefits minus the drug side effects of Ozempic and Wegovy.  Wahoo!

💡 You’ll learn:

  • 🔬 The science behind how sweeteners affect metabolism and hormones

  • 📊 Glycemic index comparisons of common fruits

  • 🌿 Nutritional bonuses (and red flags) of natural sweeteners

  • ⚠️ What the research says about hidden dangers in “healthier” alternatives

  • 🍽️ Delicious recipes to sweeten wisely—with purpose and nutrition!

  • 🎥 Watch the full video to get the complete scoop

  • 📄 Download the free PDF of the entire presentation

  • 🧠 Fuel your brain with knowledge—and maybe a Molasses Ginger Smoothie, too!

Part 1 of the Unhealthy Trinity of P's: Processed Food Poisons - From Can to Chaos:

A Veritable Stew of Trouble…

Welcome to Part 1 of our Three P’s Series (withing the larger Stop Eating C.R.A.P. series!)—where we dive fork-first into the world of Processed Foods and what’s really lurking behind the labels.

From canned soups to colorful cereals, ultra-processed foods dominate modern grocery aislesand our plates. But what are we really consuming? This presentation pulls back the curtain on today’s most common (and commonly dangerous) food additives, including:

– Preservatives like BHT, TBHQ, and potassium sorbate
– MSG and its sneaky sidekicks disguised under dozens of names
– Endocrine disruptors, excitotoxins, and gut-confusing emulsifiers
– Industrial fats and the truth about modern soy
– The cumulative, synergistic chaos created when all these “ingredients” add up

You’ll walk away with clarity, confidence, and perhaps a craving for something real.

Green_tea_th-166332126.jpg
Abstract: Green tea's (Camellia sinensis) anticancer and anti-inflammatory effects are well-known. Catechins are the most effective antioxidants among the physiologically active compounds found in Camellia sinesis. Recent research demonstrates that the number of hydroxyl groups and the presence of specific structural groups have a substantial impact on the antioxidant activity of catechins. Unfermented green tea is the finest source of these chemicals. Catechins have the ability to effectively neutralize reactive oxygen species. The catechin derivatives of green tea include epicatechin (EC), epigallocatechin (EGC), epicatechin gallate (ECG) and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG has the greatest anti-inflammatory and anticancer potential. Notably, catechins in green tea have been explored for their ability to prevent a variety of cancers. Literature evidence, based on epidemiological and laboratory studies, indicates that green tea catechins have certain properties that can serve as the basis for their consideration as lead molecules in the synthesis of novel anticancer drugs and for further exploration of their role as pharmacologically active natural adjuvants to standard chemotherapeutics. The various sections of the article will focus on how catechins affect the survival, proliferation, invasion, angiogenesis, and metastasis of tumors by modulating cellular pathways.

Green Tea

Here's a short overview of the health benefits of green tea:  Green Tea: A Natural Health Booster

Some Specifics

This review highlights the anti-carcinogenic effects of green tea catechins integrating the recent information to gain a clear concept. Special emphasis was given to the effectiveness of green tea polyphenols (GTP) in the prevention of cancer. Overall, green tea has been found to be effective to reduce the risks of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, liver cancer, colorectal cancer, skin cancer, prostate cancer, oral cancer, etc. However, sufficient information was not found to support that green tea consumption reduces the risk of lung cancer, esophageal cancer, or stomach cancer. The exciting data integrated into this article will increase interest in future researchers to garner more fruitful information on the relevant topics.

Green Tea & the Female Reproductive System

dreamstime_m_110552805.jpg
"Green tea alleviates symptom severity in uterine fibroids and improves endometriosis through anti-fibrotic, anti-angiogenic, and pro-apoptotic mechanisms. Additionally, it can reduce uterine contractility and improve the generalized hyperalgesia associated with dysmenorrhea and adenomyosis. Although its role in infertility is controversial, EGCG can be used as a symptomatic treatment for menopause, where it decreases weight gain and osteoporosis, as well as for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)."

Green Tea is Heart Healthy!

dreamstime_m_349738258.jpg
"In conclusion, the studies reviewed in this research suggest that the consumption of green tea has a significant and positive influence on cardiovascular health. These findings highlight the potential of green tea as a valuable component of a healthy lifestyle, offering a promising avenue for its use as a dietary supplement to reduce the risk of CVDs."
